Kingsland Post Office

Built in 1911, a heart-shaped crest on the building facade proclaims ‘King of the Dominion’ and British monarch, King George V. This was still an era of King and Country, when England was often eferred to as ‘back home’ even by people born in New Zealand. The Post Office was an important place in the community for transporting parcels, documents, postcards, letters and telegrams.
